Lockdown: Lagos lists offices, businesses banned from operating till May 31

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said that some offices and businesses would remain closed despite the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown in the state which begins from Monday, May 4, 2020.

According to the Governor: “It is a gradual and controlled easing of the lockdown. We will continue to monitor the public health situation; the economic impact of the lockdown and always adjust our responses accordingly.

He added that the new guidelines would be reviewed by May 31st, 2020.

Call to mind, that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the conditional and phased relaxation of the lockdown imposed on Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States due to the coronavirus outbreak during a national broadcast on Monday.

The full list of businesses in Lagos that have been banned from operations include:

1. Entertainment centres (event centres, cinemas, arcades, bars, casinos, day clubs, nightclubs, beaches, viewing centres, swimming pools, gyms and all recreation and relaxation centres);

2. Salons and beauty parlours (Beauty salons, Spas, barbershops, and public parks);

3. Beer parlours;

4. Motorcycles (those used for courier and logistics purposes are exempted);

5. All public and private schools from primary level to tertiary education.
