BREAKING: CHAN Eagles beat Angola to Qualify for Semi-Finals

Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles have qualified for the semi-finals of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) going on in Morocco.

The Eagles advanced to the next stage of the tournament Sunday after fighting back from a goal down to beat Angola.

Eagles looked on the way out of the tournament until Lobi Stars forward Anthony Okpotu equalised in injury time.

Gabriel Okechukwu completed the comeback for the Nigerians with the winning goal in the 110th minute.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Nigerian team on their victory over the Angolans.

The President extends his congratulatory message to the team in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant to on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu.

The statement reads “President Buhari who watched the match in his hotel room in Addis Ababa after a long day of meetings which started at 8:00 am and ended at 5:30 pm wishes them the very best for the upcoming matches.

The president had earlier delivered a message at the 30th AU Summit, speaking on the topic “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation”.
