The Chairman of the sacked civil servants, Mr. Obukowho Regha, revealed they were employed on merit. He pleaded with the governor to attend to their plight as they were passing through tough times following the action of the state government.

Mr. Obukowho Regha who claimed the group had written a petition to the House of Assembly asking the arm of government, to instruct the Governor to revisit their case and reinstate the sacked workers lamented that their petition to the house was not read.

However, one of the suspended workers Mrs. Josephine Edumor, who expressed her regret, said ”some of her colleagues had to resign from their former jobs to pick up an employment offered them by the previous administration only to be kicked out a month later”.

She revealed she has been seeking and searching for the job two years before she was employed. She, however, lamented the action of the sitting governor to suspend them form their job hoping that they will be recalled.
