Dr Rahman Adedoyin and six of his hotel workers face trial for the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a State High Court in Osun State has denied their bail pleas.
While delivering a judgement on the applications, the presiding court, Chief Justice Adepele Ojo, stated that the defendant’s medical conditions are not so critical that they should not be catered to by the correctional service.
She went on to say that the defendants had failed to show that the correctional service lacked necessary facilities to handle their medical needs.
According to her, the nature of the charges brought against the defendants requires the court to exercise caution while granting bail.
