Several allegations have been rolled out yesterday, that a top leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, may have made moves to alter the delegates’ list in favour of a northern presidential aspirant ahead of the primary.

Vanguard reports that according to a source, altering of the delegates’ list was aimed at shutting out southern presidential aspirants in favour of the north.

The source in his words said “The National Chairman of the party is still pushing for a northern candidate and that is why he is pushing for the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan. And that is why Lawan has refused to withdraw from the race”.

Confirming the allegation, an advocacy group, Compass for New Nigeria, CNN, through its leader Toluwalade George said that reports reaching its secretariat, claimed that the “APC chairman had been going behind the president and against his instruction, in cahoots with small minds like him to alter the delegates list in the hope that power would remain in the north.”

George, however, called on every stakeholder in the party to closely monitor Adamu and not allow him bring down the only party that has given hope to the unity of Nigeria by agreeing to shift power to south, adding that he has lost all the confidence and respect earlier conceded to him.
