THE head of the Imiakebu community in the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, Chief Ugheiemhekhia Yahaya, on Tuesday, asked for N50bn compensation for the alleged murder of five youths by a police officer, John Agaga.
Yahaya told the state Judicial Panel of Inquiry for victims of SARS and related abuses that the incident happened on December 28, 2019, claiming the lives of Sabo Abacha, Garuba Shaka, Sunday Augustine, Isaac John and Sunday Junior.
He said, “They have been in the morgue since December 2019. It is the DPO that is keeping them. We want compensation for our community. Those persons have relations, and they must be compensated.
“Just for being present and waiting for an address for their village heads, they have no reason for killing them.”
The counsel for the petitioners, Kami Asunogie, said a conflict had broken out between Imiakebu and Isiuku and instead of finding a solution to the conflict; the DPO allegedly came into Imiakebu and killed the youths in five minutes on the said day.
