Osun Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Oshogbo on Friday declared Adegboyega Oyetola as the lawful winner of July 16, 2022 election, having found ‘proof’ of over voting.
While delivering a majority decision, Justice Tetsea Kume declared that INEC did not comply substancially with the Constitution and the provisions of the Electoral Act.
Justice Kume said after deducting the over voting, Oyetola scored the majority lawful votes of 314,931 against Adeleke’s 219,666.
In his reaction to the tribunal’s verdict, the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke urged his supporters to remain calm as he is already making moves to appeal the judgement.
