Not less than three persons reportedly lost their lives as gunmen opened fire in the Aguda area of Lagos State on Friday.
The incident happened within the vicinity of Aguda Central Mosque while the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 polls, Dr. Abdulaziz Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, was there attending the Jumat Service.
As shown in a video circulating online, the gunmen, operating in a Toyota Sienna bus with the colour of the PDP, were seen shooting and moving around with machetes and axes, attacking those suspected to be political rivals.
In reaction to this ugly situation, the Lagos State Government has issued stern warning against violence and all forms of political thuggery in the state.
Following advice from competent sources, including elders and respectable Lagosians, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said he will henceforth shun any forum that may require him being together with PDP and its agents of violence.
Sanwo-Olu also regrets to announce that he will not be participating at The Platform Governorship Debate of January 29, 2023, because he will never want to be found in the company of those to whom the lives of innocent Lagosians mean nothing.
