Video: Molestation, killing of journalists in Nigeria worrisome, alarming, unwarranted- IPC boss Lanre Arogundade

At a media roundtable to mark year 2020 edition of the United Nation’s International Day to End Impunity (IDEI) for Crimes Against Journalists recently held in Lagos by the International Press Centre with the support of the Open Society Foundation, FirstNigeriaTV’s Ojomo, Olusegun Adebambo met and spoke with the Executive Director, IPC, Mr Lanre Arogundade.

Arogundade in the above video interview expressed what the IDEI stood for; the roles of the IPC in Journalist’s Safety and Welfare, Women Empowerment Initiatives, Betterment for People Living With Disabilities..and other issues..

The event which was also organized as a Stakeholders Forum on Journalists’ Safety and Press Freedom Limitations in Nigeria, also featured a presentation of findings of a survey on perception of stakeholders on state of safety of journalists and press freedom in Nigeria, conducted by the IPC.

The project had the overall objective of expanding the frontiers of safety of journalists and press freedom in Nigeria through continued sensitization of media professionals and other relevant stakeholders.
