Henceforth, all Agrochemicals dealers in Nigeria must be trained by CropLife Nigeria, listed and certified by NAFDAC before they can handle, store and distribute agrochemicals used for crop protection in Nigeria.
To this end, CropLife Nigeria in conjunction with the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control(NAFDAC) recently held the flag-off of presentation of certificates to deserving agrodealers who had completed the CropLife-NAFDAC training and accreditation for the aforementioned purpose.
The event which drew participants from NAFDAC, CropLife Nigeria, CropLife International, associated government and non-government agencies and the media held at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos- Nigeria.
The training of agrochemicals dealers was necessitated by the urgent need to stem reported cases of food contamination, rejects of agricultural export commodities due to high pesticides residues, gross misuse and abuse of label instructions and poor knowledge and skills of the stakeholders in the agricultural chemical value chain.
