UN appoints finance minister as pension fund committee member

United Nations has appointed Nigerian finance minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, as a member of Investments Committee of  United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund.

Under-Secretary-General of UN, Jan Beagle, said the finance minister would serve a one-year term of office effective from January the 1st, 2018.

The Joint Staff Pension Fund which currently serves 23 member organizations, provides UN pension, death, disability and the other related benefits for staff of the United Nations and other organizations admitted to membership in the Fund.

The Fund is also with about 75,000 retirees in 200 countries and over one hundred thousand active participants across the globe.
