President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the government and people of Benue State to exercise caution on the recent attacks on some communities in the state while security agencies carry out an appropriate investigation.
The President, who asked the people to accommodate their countrymen, also assured them that all the perpetrators of violence in Benue would be made to face the wrath of the law.
While appealing to the delegation of political leaders, traditional rulers and elders of the state led by Governor Samuel Ortom, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari stated that the Police, the Department of State Security and other security agencies had been directed to ensure all those behind the atrocity get punished.
He further sympathized with all the victims of the attacks, as well as the families who lost loved ones and properties, saying the government would make efforts to improve their situations.
