President Buhari deploys security officials for rescue operation in Niger State

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the kidnapping of some staff and students of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State and ordered the Armed Forces and Police to guarantee immediate and safe return of all the victims.

A statement made by the President’s spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Wednesday,discloses that the president had also deployed security officials to Minna, Niger, to direct the rescue operation.

According to the President’s Spokesman, the rescue team is also required to meet with state officials, community leaders, and also with parents and staff of the College.

Buhari orders them ”to do all their possible best to put stop to the saga”, and stop such miserable attacks on schools in the future.

“Our prayers are with families of the victims of this attack,” said the president as he reacted to the attack on innocent school children.

Gunmen at about 3 a.m, attacked Government Science Secondary School in Kagara, headquarters of Rafi Local Government Area of Niger, kidnapping an anonymous number of staff and students.

“At about 3 a.m. last night, gunmen attacked Government Science College in Kagara, eliminating one and kidnapping an anonymous number of student and staff members.

“Some staff members, their spouses, children were also kidnapped by the bandits,” a source told newsmen on Wednesday in Kagara.
