National Organizing Secretary, Afenifere, Abagun-Jimba Kole Omololu, has expressed hope of a new beginning following the ruling by Supreme court of Nigeria to uphold President Bola Tinubu as winner of the presidential election in February.
Omololu, who is formerly Coordinator for the Afenifere group, Europe chapter says that the present administration can now focus on doing what is right for the citizens after the ordeals of the previous administration.
“After the past administration, trust left the country but to the glory of God, hope is renewed. I believe God has a purpose for our couny. What the government that left for the present administration can be termed as a laptop without a software in it. But now, we can start all over again and build Nigeria. The Nigeria of the dream of our forefathers, this is our prayer.
I hope Nigerians will be patient and understanding, a lot is happening now, the petrol price is so high that it is unaffordable to a lot of people, yes it’s going to be like that because we export crude and then import the refined one at very high price and for us to get as much foreign exchange as we want, we have to sell a lot of crude oil.
OPEC gave us 1.7 million barrels a day, but hardly do we produce 500,000 in the previous government. If we are able to produce above one million, 1.2 million or 1.4 million, Nigeria will start smiling and the cost of buying forex will go down. These are simple facts that Nigerians must know, if not we keep accusing Tinubu. It is not tinubu” he said
While expressing high hopes in a new beginning, he further opined that Nigeria will start living a reality, when Nigerians start patronising locally made goods, this, he said, will provide enough finances to improve the Educational sector and curb the japa syndrome among young people in Nigeria.
