A faction of the Osun Peoples Democratic Party will hold a rival gubernatorial primary election today, barring any last-minute resolutions.
The group opposes the decision of the PD’s National Working Committee to limit participation in the exercise to elected Ad-Hoc delegates loyal to one faction.
Remember that the Ad-Hoc Delegate Congress was a source of contention within the Party because duplicate congresses were held in different parts of the state.
Senator Ademola Adeleke’s supporters have assembled at the Osogbo Township Stadium as of press time on Tuesday to elect the party’s candidate.
In Ankara Aso Ebi, the party faithful who had arrived were magnificent. Adeleke, who was also the party’s candidate in 2018, appears to be optimistic.
Adeleke said he was cheated out of the election, which he claimed was won by incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
More to come..
