Ondo state to engage over 4,000 farmers in cassava to ethanol project


Ondo State Government has said it will engage over four thousand farmers in its cassava to ethanol project. 
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu restated his administration’s drive to use effective partnership to industrialise the State at an event organised by Alex Ajipe, facilitator of the cassava to ethanol project in Ondo state.

Alex Ajipe said ten memoranda of understanding, MOUs have been signed with different organisations, while relevant stakeholders have been engaged to help meet the 146,000 tons of cassava needed every year for the ethanol plant.

Present at the event were government officials, representatives of financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, Bank of Agriculture and foreign partners.

Ondo state Governor, Akeredolu in his speech, thanked the facilitator of the initiative, which he believes will boost his government’s industrialisation drive.

The Governor, represented by the State Commissioner for Agriculture, sought cooperation of stakeholders for the success of the project.

Wife of the State Governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu pleaded for inclusion of many women in the cassava to ethanol project.

Business experts present at the event were also excited about the project.
