Consumer protection agency, BrandXchange has announced that the voting for the 2024 Consumer Value Awards (CVA) is nearing its end, with the final tally set for June 30th. Leading brands across various categories are locked in a fierce competition for consumer approval based on market experiences.
In the highly competitive Telecommunication (MNOS) category, MTN holds a lead with 46% of the vote. Spectranet dominates the Internet Service Provider category, securing 80% of the votes.
The competition remains fluid, with shifts in leading brands showcasing the nature of consumer preferences. In the Table Water category, CWay has overtaken Eva Water, now holding 37% of the vote. Similarly, Fearless leads the Energy Drink category with 55%, and Reload Multivitamin tops the Multivitamin Infant category with 64%.
Other leading brands include Cowbell in the Milk Skimmed Powdered category with 55% of the vote and Always in the Sanitary Pad category with 50%. MTN also leads in the Telecommunication (MNOS) Data category with 44%, while Just Delight commands the Ice Cream category with 37%.
In the home appliances segment, Samsung leads the Television category with 47%, and Haier Thermocool dominates both the Refrigerator and Washing Machine categories with 52% and 50%, respectively. Lontor leads the Air Conditioner category with 38%.
Trophy tops the Alcoholic Beverage category with 41%, Pepsi leads Carbonated Drinks with 64%, and Bournvita commands the Chocolate Malt Beverage category with 57%. Other notable leaders include Lipton in the Tea Bag category with 87% and Guinness in the Stout Beer category with 75%.
In the category of daily essentials, Colgate is leading the Toothpaste Regular category with 30% and Dabur dominates the Toothpaste Herbal category with 61%. In the Sugar category, Dangote Sugar holds 61%, while Lafarge (Elephant) leads the Cement category with 54%.
Insurance giant Leadway tops its category with 55% of the vote. Maltina and Malta Guinness are tied in the Malt Drink category with 28% each, and Dettol leads the Bathing Soap category with 40%. Peak Milk dominates the Milk Full Cream category with 69%, and Golden Penny Spaghetti leads Pasta with 77%.
Indomie as well leads in the Noodles category with 88%, while Checkers leads Custard with 88%. In banking, GTBank and Access Bank are tied with 44% each, and Opay leads Virtual Banks with 58%.
Other frontrunners include Cadbury in the Consumer Friendly Organizations category with 60%, Morning Fresh in Dish Washing Liquid with 54%, and Gala in Sausage Roll with 92%. Knorr leads the Seasoning Cube category with 63%, and Vaseline tops the Petroleum Jelly category with 75%.
Golden Morn and Nasco Cornflakes share the lead in the Breakfast Cereal category with 38% each, and Hypo leads the Toilet Cleaner category with 55%. Reload dominates both the Multivitamin Kids and Adults categories with 86% and 91%, respectively. Bet9ja leads the Sport Betting category with 50%.

With just weeks left, the race is heating up. Ekine has urged more consumers to vote, while he underscored the transparent and accessible voting process. According to him, every vote counts in determining the ultimate winners of the CVA 2024.
