Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has empowered 250 vulnerable women with N2.5million to support their business.
The beneficiaries of empowerment programme organized by Office of Special Assistant to Kwara Governor were drawn from 16 local government areas.
Beneficiaries including aged, widows and person living with disability received N10,000 each and transport fare to their respective local government.

Speaking at the event held at Banquet Hall Ilorin, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq who was represented by his deputy, Kayode Alabi urged the women to the cash support to augment their businesses.
The Deputy Governor stated that God will bless the little cash, if they use it judiciously.
The Special Assistant on Women Empowerment, Alhaja Bolanle Ismail said the programme is personal initiative of the Governor Abdulrazaq to ameliorate suffering of vulnerable women in the society.
Alhaja Bolanle Ismail noted the empowerment will complement the Owo-Isowo and Owo-Arugbo under KWASSIP being sponsored by Kwara State Government.
She however cautioned the beneficiaries against using the fund for frivolous activities, adding her office will continue to push for more support for women in the state.
