With a distant 307,955 votes to 223,619, Obaseki has won the 2020 Edo State Gubernatorial elections under the platform of the opposition, the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
Incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki has therefore been declared by INEC as the returning Governor of Edo State, extensively beating his immediate contender, Pastor Ize Iyamu of the APC.
Some close watchers are suggesting that with the final whistle now blown by the electoral umpire INEC, Obaseki should return to his original party, the APC while Iyamu also returns to PDP.
