COVID-19: NCDC Records 145 Recoveries, Total Now 151, 998

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has disclosed 145 recoveries after being treated from different isolation centers across the country, confirming the total number of discharged cases to 151,998.

The NCDC discloses this on its official Twitter handle in the late hours on Sunday.

The health agency reveals 82 new confirmed cases were recorded in the country, bringing the total number of cases to 163,195.

According to it, no COVID-19-related death was confirmed, while the country’s death rate remains at 2,058 as of March 4, 2021.

“The 82 new cases are confirmed from 8 states- Lagos (33), Yobe (15), Abia (11), Rivers (10), Imo (five), Akwa Ibom (four), Katsina (two), and Osun (two),” the agency listed.

“Our discharges today include 65 community recoveries in Akwa Ibom and 30 in FCT managed in line with guidelines,” NCDC reveals.

It noted that the country’s active cases stood at 9,139, in the last 24 hours.

The public health agency said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, had proceeded to coordinate the national response activities in the country.

It reported that the country had tested 1,803,177 people since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was declared on 27 February 2020.
