Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has called upon Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Abubakar Momoh, to rally contractors back to work and ensure the completion of stalled NDDC projects scattered across the state.
During the visit of the minister and his team to inspect ongoing road projects managed by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and NDDC, Governor Otti expressed regret over Abia’s status as a major victim of abandoned NDDC projects. He decried the deplorable condition of various NDDC roads in the state, calling for urgent attention.
While he noted the pivotal role of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and NDDC in the region’s development, Governor Otti lauded the minister for prioritizing Abia State in the inspection tour.
The governor further appealed to the minister to address the issue of long-standing debts which is a major hindrance to project completion. This, he says will aid the resumption of stalled projects for the benefit of the state.
Governor Otti also commended the minister for his proactive approach in conducting the inspection visit and assured him of Abia’s full cooperation to achieve mutual development goals.
In his remarks, Minister Abubakar Momoh praised Governor Otti for enhancing security in Abia State and urged him to continue prioritizing peace for the region’s economic prosperity.
