Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Group Applauds Dapo Abiodun for Road Reconstruction Contract, Urges Transparency, Swift Completion

The Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Group on Road Infrastructure has applauded Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR CON, following the awarding of the contract for the reconstruction of the Ado-Odo/Ota-Abeokuta Road. This vital infrastructure project is expected to reawaken enhance economic activities, mobility, and access to essential services in the region.

“We would like to commend His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his recent decision to award the contract for the reconstruction of the Ado-Odo/Ota-Abeokuta Road,” the group stated in a release, Sunday. “This road is a vital artery for our economy, facilitating trade, movement, and access to essential services.”

While they stressed on the need for transparency in the execution of this project, the group also called on the government to release important details of the contract to the public. “It is crucial for the details of the awarded contract to be made public. Transparency is a key component of good governance and builds trust between the government and the citizenry,” the statement read. Specifically, they requested information on the contractor’s name, total contract value, the scope of work, and project timelines.

In addition to contract details, the group also urged that there should be a clear communication regarding the project’s timeline and expected completion date. “We urge the government to provide a detailed project schedule, including start and end dates, to avoid any ambiguity,” they insisted. This information is essential for proper monitoring and accountability.

They also called for broader development interventions in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area, given its strategic importance to Ogun State’s economy. “Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government should be prioritized for development interventions, considering its strategic importance and the significant contributions it makes to the state’s economy.”

Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Olajumoke Odeyemi, reaffirmed their readiness to support the government in ensuring the success of the road reconstruction and other future projects. “Together, we can make Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government a model for development and progress,” she stated.

The group remains optimistic about the potential positive impact of this project and looks forward to seeing swift action and continued commitment from the state government.
