Visa and Master Cards are means adopted by Nigerians to carry out business transactions which have lasted for many decades.
Although there is no doubt that the cards have been efficient and reliable means of financial transactions, it is worthy of note that the use of the cards deplete Nigeria of its hard-earned foreign exchange because commissions are paid to the owner countries.
Now that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced cards that are indigenous, the apex bank has taken a giant stride to liberate the nation’s economy from foreign exploitation.
As revealed in this clip, the ingenuity of the CBN Governor is highly commendable. It is therefore hoped that all necessary measures will be put in place to ensure that the laudable project survives.
