The government of Ghana has promised that soonest, it would be made into law that no foreigner acquires property in the country.
According to this report, no immigrant would be allowed to own property in the country in which report claims that the indigenes have been extremely pauperised by the rate of property acquisition by foreigners mainly Chinese.
The Ghanaian government should tread cautiously on the proposed policy. It should consider the effect such discriminatory policy had on the Zimbabwean economy under Robert Mugabe. Also, it should evaluate the impact it would place on Foreign Direct Investment. However its intentions, a more deeper reflection is needed.
