The venue of the Muslim rites for the repose of the soul of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was thronged by traditional ritualists who had come to take over the burial process of the late monarch.
Immediately after the end of the Muslim burial rites, traditional worshippers hijacked the corpse and took it to an inner chamber, preventing the majority of attendees from access to their worship proceeding.
A very few people including top traditionalists were present at the inner chamber where the rites were performed while the majority of attendees at the event were prevented from partaking in the ritual processes.
They however stated that the body of Alaafin will be buried by 9:pm without curfew starting 7pm in Oyo town.
