Reports reaching FirstNigeriaTV- Metro News arm have again confirmed that the case of harassment of motorists by thugs masquerading as local council officials has not stopped despite earlier notice on the matter.
Our Metro correspondent, Tiwalola Ajayi again today confirmed that thugs emanating from the surroundings of the premises of the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area have been arresting motorists’ vehicles for offences ranging from improper u-turning to use of one-way outlets and extorting as much as N25,000 from their victims.
A particular man nicknamed ‘Atiku’ is said to be the leader of the unscrupulous group tormenting motorists at the Ikeja Allen Roundabout.
FirstNigeriaTV was able to track and report the issue to the Former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi who said that the government of Lagos State would never, at this time, wish to make life miserable for Lagosians.
“We are not saying that party members should not benefit from government but what we strongly abhor are attitudes, such as this, that make life difficult for Lagosians”, he said.
He also promised to ensure that the ugly trend is nipped in the bud as he gets in touch with the authorities in charge of transportation in the metropolis.
