*SIR JIMI SOLANKE – A RECIPIENT OF LIFETIME MUSIC ACHIEVERS AWARD.*
It was few days to the 4th edition of the Methodist Church Ijebu Diocese Choral Music Competition when the Board of The Rev Jacob Adesoga Badejo & Mrs Grace Folorunso Badejo Music Fundation, sat and chose Sir Jimi Solanke (Knight of Charles Wesley) as the 3rd recipient of the Prestigious Lifetime Music Achievers Award.
This honour was given to him as a result of his positive contributions to the development of Music Evangelism and the selfless roles he played during the recording of a compilation of “Methodist Hymns for all Seasons “, both the English and Yoruba versions.
And on Saturday 3rd April, 2021, he was our guest, with his lovely wife, at the Choral Competition to receive his award; An award that is conferred on only the befitting.
Now, we are set for the 7th edition. It is painful that Sir Jimi Solanke will only be there with us in spirit. Our consolation is that we will also be holding a Festival of Hymns and songs in his honour 2 days after.
It shall be well with us. Surely, it shall be well with us.
