The Saudi Arabia’ General Authority on Civil Aviation (GACA) has extended the deadline for the closure of the airspace till July 7.

This new development sprang up following a high level discussion between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, with the Nigerian team led by the Chairman /Chief Executive Officer of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Report has it that there are still about 3,000 Nigerian pilgrims who are yet to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

While the two airlines, Max Air and Azman airline would continue their airlifting operations from where they left off, the commission has concluded arrangement with Flynas to operate three rescue flights for pilgrims in Kano and Abuja.
