There is panic in Lagos on Monday evening as the skyline was overtaken by dust haze.
At about 7pm, most people observed a sudden change in the atmospheric conditions as the skyline became hazy while dust took over accompanied with some violent wind.
The Nigerian Meteorological Centre had earlier warned of possible haze on January 4.
The day had earlier been marked by sunny period which led to excessive heat conditions.
The violent wind was followed by light showers which seemed to clear part of the dust haze.
Most residents expect the month of January to be dry.
