The PDP primary which was to take place in Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra in Cross River state to select an aspirant who would contest against the opposition party at Federal Constituency election in 2023 turned to blood shed as a policeman known as Martins Mbang was shot dead and another was injured.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident on Monday evening, saying that eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime.

She condemned the dastardly act and said that they had started with violence when the main elections were yet to even start.
