The Ondo Police command, have arrested a man known as Afolami Olanrewaju for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl in Ile Oluji/Oke Igbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Public Relations Officer of the zone, Mr Adeoye Akeem, who revealed this in a statement on Sunday, said the suspect forcefully had canal knowledge of the child after dropping off the victim and her siblings at their parents house.
He was later arrested by the police and he confessed to the crime during interrogation.
He pleaded not guilty when array before the court and was remanded in the correctional center pending continuation of the case which was adjourned to July 27, 2022.
The police spokesperson also stated that the victim was taken to hospital for immediate medical attention while the suspect was arraigned at High Court, Akure.
