The Ojota Development Foundation (ODF), a not- for-profit and non-political association whose members have come together and are solely united in their passion for the development of the Ojota/Ogudu community in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State is about the news again as the group embarks, come 15th December, on this year’s episode of “Feed The Widows And The Less Privileged Initiative” via the ODF Food Bank.
In a letter signed by the association’s President Anthony Adebola Adelaja and its General Secretary, Austine Ehime Okojie, the association appeals to well-meaning individuals, private sector players and government bodies to come to its aid in accomplishing its community food provision initiative and the erection of the Ojota Archway.
The main objectives of the Foundation are developing Ojota and its environs, providing a viable and enabling environment for its residents, whilst attending to their welfare needs by alleviating economic hardship.
Ojota Development Foundation (ODF) fosters a spirit of unity, friendship and common understanding amongst members and within the Ojota environs.
Below is the letter made available to FirstNigeriaTV:
As part of our (Ojota Development Foundation) Community Development and Engagement Initiatives, we write to solicit your support for two of our flagship projects:
1.ODF FOOD BANK -This is a mainstream program that we embark on at regular intervals to alleviate poverty and support widows, destitutes and the needy in the Ojota/Ogudu environs.
We estimate that there are in excess of 500 households who are severely affected by harsh economic conditions such that they lack resources to feed themselves.
This program will involve distribution of staple food items to residents who have pre-registered and also meet the qualifying criteria set out above.
Cost earmarked – N5, 000,000 (5 million Naira)
2.THE OJOTA ARCHWAY -This is an initiative to erect a commemorative archway at the entrance of the Ojota-Ogudu Road as a landmark to Ojota (the Gateway to Lagos). It will serve as a landmark to highight the entry point into our community and a reference point for travellers.
Cost earmarked – N5, 000,000 (5 million Naira)
To this end, we invite YOU OR your esteemed organisation to join us as stakeholders, or philanthropic backers to support these two laudable projects which we plan to deliver by 14th December 2024
It is noted that apart from the brand affiliation and public goodwill associated with such a collaboration, your donations will go a long way in urbanising Ojota, and alleviating the impact of poverty and social deprivation in our community.
All donations should be made to:
