Obasanjo threatens to exit CNM

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said he would cease from being a member anytime the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) decides to engage in partisan politics.

Obasanjo disclosed this when he officially registered as a member of the CNM at the NUJ secretariat, Abeokuta adding that he was happy to be a member of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement which is a movement for good governance.

He, however, completed the membership form of the Movement and handed it over to former Governor of Osun State, Col. Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Rtd.), who is the National Coordinator of the group.

The CNM was officially launched in Abuja as the brainchild of Obasanjo, which he had proffered as the panacea to mobilise Nigerians for unity in his recent advice to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obasanjo, also composed a new song for the nation, saying ‘‘I see a new Nigeria in the hands of God and we will all be witnesses of the emergence of a new Nigeria.’’
