Mudashiru Obasa, has emerged Lagos State House of Assembly speaker, to represent Agege 1 constituency for the third term.
Obasa who was first elected speaker is n 2015, was elected on Tuesday, shortly after the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu proclaimed the 10th Assembly
Monisola Lasbat (Apapa I), Chief Whip of the Ninth Assembly, was also elected Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly after her nomination and general acceptance by the House.
Obasa, who was nominated by Temitope Adewale, representing Ifako-Ijaiye 1 state constituency, seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu has since called on his fellow members to make the welfare of their constituencies, a priority.
While celebrating his re-election on Wednesday, he said on his tweeteer handle “Lagos is a great state with a great potential and we have a responsibility to harness these potentials and maximize them for the benefits of our people”
“We must prioritize the welfare of our constituents and ensure that our policies are geared towards meeting their needs ”
Noheem Adams, the Deputy Majority Leader in the ninth Assembly, was elected as the new Majority Leader while Adedamola Kasunmu was elected the Deputy Majority Leader.
