Shortly after shaking the Nigerian movie industry to the roots by the premiere of her outstanding movie– The Alter Date, its display in 36 cinema houses nationwide and attendant overwhelming acceptance and ovation by an unbelievably large audience, unassuming and modest Yemisi Banjoko-Ogunyemi has bagged the 2019 DBE Music Award for Outstanding Achievements in Movie.
The award ceremony titled ” For Her Outstanding Achievement in Movies 2019″ was attended by professionals of varied fields of endeavour.
To add an extra mount to her headgear, Yemisi Banjoko Ogunyemi also got nominated for the TINFF (Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival) Awards as Best Nollywood Female Film Maker and Best Nollywood Producer 2019.
The film Alter Date was also nominated as the Best Nollywood Film; its Director, Marc Adebesin was nominated for Best Nollywood Director and three of its actors including Bolanle Ninalowo, Tana Adelana and Lilian Esoro were nominated for Best Nollywood Actor, Best Nollywood Actress and Best Nollywood Supporting Actress respectively.
