The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 214 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 162, 076.
The NCDC revealed this on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday. “On the 23rd of March 2021, 214 newly recorded cases were confirmed in the country. “Till date, 162,076 cases have been confirmed 148,530 cases discharged and 2,031 deaths across the country.
“The 214 new cases were reported from 13 states – Adamawa (109), Lagos (33), Bauchi (26), Kaduna (Nine), Rivers (Nine), FCT (Seven), Oyo (Seven), Gombe (Five), Osun (Three), Ekiti (one), Ogun (One),” the NCDC said.
Following reports from newsmen, one COVID-19-related death was confirmed, while the country’s death toll remained at 2,031 as of March 23, 2021. Following reports, 405 more people have recovered from the pandemic, bringing the sum total of recoveries to 148,530. “157 community recoveries in Bauchi State, 121 in FCT and 55 in Lagos State sticked in line with the safety guidelines .Number of cases from Adamawa State confirmed from the 10th of March, 2021,” NCDC confirms. It revealed that the country’s present cases remained at 11,521, in the last 24 hours.
The public health agency stated that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), operated at Level 3, had proceeded to harmonize the national response activities in the country at large.
Newsmen revealed that the country had tested 1,727,467 people since the first recorded case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was declared on 27 February 2020.
