Kogi Governor, Ododo rolls out Metropolitan Quick Response Squad to Combat Crime Wave

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has rolled out a new security initiative to tackle the surge in criminal activities across Lokoja and other towns in the state.

Dubbed the ‘Metropolitan Quick Response,’ the operation is a collaboration between the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police and the Joint Task Force of security agencies in the state, as disclosed by Ismaila Isah, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media.

Speaking at the launch held at the Government House in Lokoja, Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to tackling crime head-on.

He stated that the safety and security of Kogi State residents are paramount, and promised relentless efforts to ensure citizens can rest assured with peace of mind.

“Today, we are flagging off the Metropolitan Quick Response (MQR) to advance our efforts in the safety and security of lives and property in Lokoja Metropolis and beyond.

“The flag off of the Metropolitan Quick Response operation is part of the evolving security measures to ensure we have a safe environment and to build on the solid foundation of our security architecture in the state.

“As a government, we are resolute in our determination to flush out criminal elements in every nook and cranny of Kogi State.

“Nothing will be spared to guarantee safety and security in every inch of the state and Kogi state will remain unsafe for criminal elements where ever they may be,” the governor said

He also lauded the dedication and sacrifices of the state’s security agencies, assuring continued support and appreciation for their efforts in maintaining peace and order
