The Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, Adewale Giwa, has expressed disappointment over the long silence of Pastor Enoch Adeboye on insecurity and other issues in Nigeria.

Giwa said that somebody like Adeboye ought to have spoken the truth to those in authority before now.

He, however, urged Christians across the country to pray for the quick release of the five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who were kidnapped on Thursday along Ijebu-Ode axis.

Giwa said this in a statement signed and sent to DAILY POST on Friday,

He said,” As a man of God who knows his calling, you should always say the truth in any situation. Prophet Jehu the seer, the son of Hanani was able to confront King Jehoshaphat and said to the king, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD?

“God wasn’t too happy that King Jehoshaphat of Judah aligned himself with King Ahab, the same Ahab who married Jezebel and led Israel further into idolatry. The biblical description of this event recorded that Jehu went out to meet King Jehoshaphat.

“Jehu’s message to King Jehoshaphat included: Why did you help the wicked (King Ahab) and love those that hate the Lord? The result of your action King Jehoshaphat is that God’s wrath has gone out against you. Nevertheless, King Jehoshaphat, some good is in you, i.e., for you destroyed the Asheroth poles and worship sites out of the land and you set your heart to seek God.

“I am wondering why my father in the Lord, Pastor Adeboye has kept Nigerians in the dark for a long time. I understand that the vice president Pastor Yemi Osinbajo is his product, but that does not mean that the truth should not be told. My prayer goes to the abducted Pastors wherever they are, may the mercy of God locate them in Jesus name.

“I said it and I will continue to say it that the present government has failed in all ramifications. As it is, we are in a very difficult situation in Nigeria, and only the mercy of God can save us. They are targeting Christians across the country now, and we must be able to speak up. In this kind of situation, silence kills and it is not the best option.”

Speaking on COZA, Pastor Giwa said the truth would reveal itself soon, as he urged members and leaders of the Church to stay in prayer and stand firm.

“I believe God will never forsake His true people. This case has to be thoroughly investigated. Everyone has a past, but if you are in Christ you will definitely do what is right.

“I was in the world before now. I am now a new creature, a new being that is always willing to do the will of God and speak the truth always. I was once in love with hard drinks. I used to drink beer and kinds of drinks to a point I was nicknamed “Oti”. The moment I gave my life to Jesus Christ totally, I put that behind me. I am a new creature and old things have gone away. I also dated some girls outside my wedlock. But, the truth is that if you are in Christ, you will always do what is right.

“You cannot be a Pastor and still allowing the things of the world to attract your attention. Most of the pastors today are falling because they are being led by the flesh not by the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit is in you, this will continue to guide and guard you”, said Pastor Giwa.”
