The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Kaduna chapter Ibrahim Dalhatu, has described the competency test conducted by the state government as well as the sack of 2,357 teachers as illegal.

This was said in response to the statement by the state government, through the State Universal Basic Education Board, disclosing the sack of 2,357 teachers, including the National President of NUT, Audu Amba, over the competency test.

According to him, the NUT in the state has earlier secured a court order restraining the board from conducting the competency test and asked the teachers not to sit for the examination after learning that the intent was to sack them.
