The Coalition of Ondo State Youth and Women Leaders Assembly is calling on political parties and stakeholders in the state to ensure a youth is elected governor in the upcoming governorship election next year.
The group is also urging President Bola Tinubu to appoint more youths into public office in his administration.
Chairperson of the organisation, Mrs Kemisola Bashiru, emphasized on the importance of youths in nation-building, highlighting their positive contributions towards progress while calling on traditional rulers, professional bodies, political parties, and opinion leaders to work together to elect a vibrant and youthful governor who can identify problems, proffer solutions, and carry everyone along.
The coalition, with members from all the 203 wards in Ondo State, is determined to deliver all 18 local governments in the state for a qualified and capable youth who can tackle unemployment, insecurity, and the economic crisis. As the election approaches, the group is urging all youths and people in the state to support a youth taking up the leadership position.
Bashiru, while stressing the need revive the economy and standards of living of the average citizen said “We need accelerated economic development towards sustainable livelihood for the youth, women, and the entire good people of Ondo State. No longer should any youth or woman in Ondo State beg for bread because we are 100 per cent determined to support a youthful candidate who has genuine plans to revive the moribund industries in the state”
