The Medical Director of General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye, Dr. Olusola Amure, has urged residents to register and get vaccinated against COVID-19 infection.
Dr. Amure gave this charge on Monday at the flag-off ceremony of Coronavirus Vaccination Campaign at the Ifako Ijaiye Primary Healthcare Centre, asserting that the vaccine is free, safe and effective against Coronavirus.
“Vaccination gives your body immunity against the virus, thereby preventing you from becoming seriously ill or dying due to COVID-19 complication”, he said.
The Medical Director also commended the Chairman of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke, for showing exemplary leadership by taking the first shot of the vaccine.
In his remarks, Apostle Oke expressed gratitude to God and manufacturers of the vaccine for providing a preventive solution to the disease.
Also speaking, the Apex Nurse of the Health Centre, Mrs. Omolara Kayode, enjoined residents to register at the PHC for the vaccination, adding that the second dose of the vaccine will be administered after eight weeks of the first dose.
