Former Governor of Delta state Chief James Ibori has insisted that the failure of leadership may not necessarily be age related, tacitly backing President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election should he decide to seek a second term.
Ibori in an OPED titled “Leadership: What has age got to do with it?” published in The Independent, the Newspaper, also addressed calls by the youths for a generational change in power and leadership, saying leadership failure is not restricted to political leadership but across all sections of society including those that are by nature exclusive to the youth.
Ibori’s position is at odds with his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where he remains a key figure. His party has been on record asking Buhari, 75, to resign and not seek re-election citing his age and poor leadership.
