Get your bearings right, Pelumi advises NANTA

Top Lagos legal luminary and former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jokotola Waheed Pelumi has charged members and executives of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) to, as a matter of urgency, embark on programmes and policy directions that would rejig their department of the nation’s aviation sector to meet the ever-increasing needs and sophistication of Nigerians.

Pelumi gave this charge during the  43rd AGM of the association recently held in Lagos.

According to him, the association needed to brace up for better understanding of the mechanics of tourism, as obtainable in developed and make Nigeria a living tourism glory land.

“We are not yet there, we are not flourishing and the Nigerian tourism narrative needs to change for the better”, he said.

“Industry players need to add trade values which would include international funding, collaboration and visitation thereby creating desired income and job openings”.

“I am glad to see a great institution as NANTA striving to give its best to the Nigerian aviation industry and promise to use my experience and contacts to encourage fresh thinking from govt and other stakeholders”, he added.
