Pelumi, Ambode tipped as Senate replacement for late Oshinowo

Speculations are now rife at the corridors of the Lagos APC and the national headquarters of the party that former Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode or former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jokotola Pelumi were top notch and likely replacements for late Senator Bayo Osinowo who before his demise represented the Lagos East Senatorial District.

A very top functionary of the APC in Lagos under anonimity revealed this to FirstNigeriaTV correspondent in a chat.

The chieftain who is a former and vocal member of the Lagos State House of Assembly said that Ambode was being mentioned because of the apex body of the party’s decision to possibly compensate him for his denial of second term of office as Governor of the state and also his ‘final bow to constituted authority’ after his travails.

Barrister Jokotola Pelumi on the other hand was also on the list, according to the chieftain, because “since the period he unceremoniously left the position of Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, he had ever remained loyal to the leadership of the party and actually had at different times stood strongly in support of the ideals of the party to the letter”.

Our reporter asked the reason the chieftain believed that Pelumi could rate with Ambode for the position despite that the latter was Governor and he replied: “Don’t forget that Pelumi had been in the political clime before Ambode and he( Pelumi) had also remained unflinchingly servile and loyal to the leadership of the party but in all, both of them would likely be called upon to prove their individual worth”.
