FirstNigeriaTV gives an account of the outcome of the recent meeting between the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Southwest Governors and the AGF Abubakar Malami on the way forward in the resolution of the issues bordering on the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network(Amotekun), especially fashioning a legal framework aimed at giving better credibility to its establishment.
Representing the Governors in this short interview with the press, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu hinted that full consultations were made by the establishing team of Amotekun with all stakeholders in the nation’s security networks before the Amotekun idea was muted.
Note that AGF Malami twice avoided fielding questions from the Press at this instance. The reservation expressed by the AGF would likely have given birth to his later insistence that the Amotekun Convention remained illegal.
