FirstNigeriaTV here gives an account of the recent gruesome murder of businessman and philanthropist Ignatius Odunukwe by four criminals.
The DIG, Zone 2 of the Nigeria Police Ahmed Iliyasu here describes the dastardly act by the involved young men as the “deadliest in the annals of internet fraud in Nigeria”.
His words: ” This is arguably a new and sophisticated dimension in internet fraud in Nigeria, newly introduced by these young criminals. In the past, we had to deal progressively with ‘yahoo’ and ‘yahoo plus’ but this is a new dimension which is the deadliest in the annals of internet fraud. No one that is in the social media space is free from this, the only way to avoid being a victim is to avoid unnecessary flaunting of wealth and accomplishments on social media”.
The unfortunate victim had a sprawling business in the areas of gold mining and estate development and management and it remains a mystery that a man of such height of accomplishments could expose himself without adequate security measures to such criminals.
