Breaking:Sunday Igboho Released

The legal team of Sunday Igboho has expressed gratitude to the Government of Benin Republic for backing the Yoruba Nation by not allowing Nigerian Security extradite him to Nigeria.

Recall that he was arrested by Nigerian force yesterday Monday in Cotonou.

His lawyers also revealed that Sunday Igboho will continue his journey to an undisclosed country .

Details of how Sunday Igboho was nabbed and arrested by DSS in Cotonou

Following the arrest of Yoruba freedom fighter Adeyemo Sunday popularly known as Sunday Igboho yesterday night,details had emerged on how he was arrested.

Security source said they had been monitoring him since the night he escaped arrest in his home in Soka Area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunnaya, after he was declare wanted,had advised Igboho to turn himself in to the nearest security.

Electronic Voting Useless Without Electronic Transfer of Results-JEGA

Former National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, has described the idea of electronic voting without electronic transmission of results useless, because approval for the former was impossible without the latter.

He said the alleged acts of the Lawmakers to undermine the integrity of the elections by dressing down the power of the electoral body as a crazy and senseless decision.

In his words he said:

“What the National Assembly is doing is senseless, if not a crazy amendment. How can you make the decision of INEC subject to confirmation, concurrence and approval of the NCC? A body under the presidency? And what has the National Assembly – a legislative body got to do with executive decision of INEC?”

Breaking: Sunday Igboho Arrested in Cotonou

Yoruba Freedom Fighter, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as “Sunday Igboho” was arrested on Monday after leaving Nigeria to escape arrest.

He was arrested in Cotonou,Benin Republic by Security agents in the West Africa Country.

A source said he was planning to escape Nigeria for Germany through Cotonou the night he was nabbed.

Tiwa Savage Loses Dad

Nigerian Singer, Tiwa Savage has announced the death of her father on Monday via her Instagram page. She wrote:

“Early hours of this morning, you made a peaceful transition,

You fought till the very end, you really fought daddy, it’s been rough for you these past couple of years but you are resting now. This is tough on me. I’m so numb, so weak. Rest in perfect peace, my King.”

Reps Approve Card Reader, Warn INEC From Using Other Devices-2023 Elections

In response to the consideration of reports by the Committee on Electoral Matters between last week,the House of Representatives has approved the use of smart card readers for elections by the Independent National Electoral Commissions.

Though, a series of amendments were made to the Electoral Act passed by the lawmakers during the plenary, the electoral umpire, however, noted that it may not be able to use any other device in the electoral process.

Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila and his deputy, Ahmed Wase both showed their dissatisfaction about the term “any other devices” which they described as too vague and ambiguous

Yusuf Buhari made “Talban Daura’ of Katsina

President Mohammadu Buhari’s son has been made the “Talban Daura” of Katsina, a traditional title conferred on him by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar.

He was honoured at a turbaning ceremony held at the palace of the Emir on Tuesday, July 20.

The turtle is said to be a top traditional title in the state.

OAU releases new third wave COVID-19 guidelines

The university having being informed of the recent spread of the delta variant of the corona virus released fresh guidelines for members of staff and students.

The management urges members of the university committee to ensure strict compliance to all covid-19 preventive measures and be on guard in order to prevent infection within the community.

They further reminded the school populace of the already laid down guidelines by NCDC which is washing of hands, use of alcohol based hand sanitizers, proper use of mask and social distancing.
