British High Commission “in talks” with FG over Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest
The British High Commission said it was “in the process of seeking clarifications” from the federal government regarding the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Dean Hurlock, a spokesperson of the British High Commission, disclosed this in a message sent to TheCable on Wednesday.
In the message shared with TheCable, Hurlock said the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office “stands ready to provide consular assistance” regarding the matter.
Breaking: unknown gunmen attack Igboho’s residence few days to yoruba nation rally in Lagos
The Soka Ibadan residence of Yoruba Nation Agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho was raided in the early hours of Thursday by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:00am.
It was observed Igboho’s vehicles, including his G-wagon, Prado Jeep, some valuable properties including furniture, and windows were destroyed.
It was also alleged that some persons in the house including a close ally of Igboho identified as ‘Lady K’, were whisked away.

Reps Shut down motion to reopen borders
The House of Representatives has shut down a motion to reopen Idiroko Border and other land borders in the country.
This followed a motion by Rep. Kolawole Lawal (APC-Ogun) at plenary on Wednesday in Abuja.
Lawal had moved a motion on the urgent need to reopen Idiroko Border and other land borders in the country.
He said that though the border closure was sequel to effort by the Federal Government to curb smuggling of goods.
‘Our Problem is Not Ethnicity, It is Ourselves’ Buhari Says
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, reflected on his struggles to get justice at the courts, after disputed results of presidential elections in 2003, 2007, and 2011, submitting that people who ruled against him were of his own ethnic stock and religious persuasion, while those who stood up for him were of other faiths and ethnicity.

Breaking! Sunday Igboho Cancels July 3 Rally
Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has canceled the planned rally slated for July 3 in Lagos.
Sunday Igboho made the disclosure in an interview with BBC News Pidgin on Thursday.
Igboho gave safety and security issues as reason for him to cancel the agitation rally. His decision to suspend the Lagos rally is coming hours after some attackers, alleged to be military men invaded his house in Ibadan and whisked away his wife.
Valid PCR test required for entry into Nigeria – FG
The Nigerian government has restated that all incoming passengers must perform a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test three days before boarding.
Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) chairman, Boss Mustapha stated this on Wednesday.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation said the directive was part of the new reviewed travel restrictions.
He insisted that PCR test done more than 72 hours before departure was not valid and that passengers with such will not be allowed to board.
US consulate opens centres in Enugu, Edo
The United States Consulate General has said it inaugurated two new centres in Enugu and Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The effort, it noted, was aimed at engaging more Nigerian audience.
There are 13 American centres in Southern Nigeria.
A statement on Monday by the US Consulate Public Affairs Officer, Stephen Ibelli, indicated that the two centres would be hosted by the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus, and the Glass House, Airport Road, Benin City.
Arrest Miyetti Allah leaders like you did Nnamdi Kanu – Ortom tells Buhari
Following the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has challenged the Federal government to also arrest members of armed Fulani groups who carry out attacks against farming communities in parts of the country.
Governor Ortom made the call in a statement to Newspot on Thursday evening.
Ortom said while he has no problem with the arrest of the Biafran leader, the Federal Government’s fight against terrorism and other crimes would only be seen to be unbiased if armed herders who have been killing innocent citizens are also apprehended.
