Fire razes shops at Ladipo spare parts market in Lagos

Some of the spare parts stores at Ladipo market in Mushin, Lagos State, have caught fire.

Several shops at the Aguiyi Ironsi International Trade Center, Paramo, Ladipo Market part of the market were destroyed during the event.

The fire broke out on Friday night.

The fire erupted around 11 a.m., according to multiple sources, but the cause has not been determined as of the time of posting this story.

In a Facebook live on his page, Jude Nwankwo, President-General of the Ladipo Central Executive Auto Dealers Association (LCEADA), pleaded for support and prayer, which The Nation observed.

“I’m reporting live from the site, this is Ladipo President speaking; I’m not sure what caused this fire, and we need your help all the time.” Ladipo is a raging fireball. Nwankwo lamented, “God should come in and rescue us.”

Although no casualties have been reported, our newspaper has learned that the fire has destroyed various accessories and products worth millions of naira.

Shop owners were on the scene to combat the outbreak and remove a few items.

As of the time of reporting, emergency responders from LASEMA Response Team (LRT), LASEMA Response Unit Fire (LRU fire), Lagos State, and Federal Fire Services were also on the scene, working together to put out the fire.
