The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has disclosed the federal government’s resolution to resolve the issue of fake COVID-19 test results.
This was revealed by the Director General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu, in a press meeting today.
According to Ihekweazu, he stated that the rate at which individuals involves in fake COVID-19 test was increasing, he added that the federal government would curb and penalize such act.
He also reminded Nigerians to only use registered and accredited private laboratories for travel related COVID-19 tests
He revealed that the federal government has initiated a tool that will be examining a COVID-19 test results, promised that the tool would be unveiled soon
“We have developed & piloted a tool to verify #COVID19 test results, which will go live in a few days.”
“We’re now confident that test results out of accredited private labs in Nigeria can now be verified anywhere in the world.”
Recently, the NCDC declares that 120 COVID-19 Cases were recorded without any death record in past 24 hours.
The Newsmen had confirmed that the total cases now totaled 160, 657, while 145, 399 have been discharged with 2,013 death cases.
